Export Results

Export Results addon of Quiz and Survey Master allows you to export your quiz results as a CSV file and also as a PDF from the quiz results page. You can choose which fields to export, including contact information, quiz name, questions, answers provided, correct/incorrect, total correct answers, total questions, score, etc.

INSTALLATION/SETUP

Once you have purchased the add-on, you will have access to download the add-on. To install it, simply upload the add-on as a normal WordPress plugin. To do so, go to the Plugins page and click Add New. Then, click Upload. From there, upload the zip file that you downloaded when downloading the add-on.

After installation, the Export Results add-on should appear in your list of installed plugins. Click Activate to enable it. Once the add-on is activated, it can be found under Extensions > Installed Add-ons in the QSM option from the side panel. 

To use it, input your license key from your QSM account in the ‘Manage License’ tab within the Export Results settings.

There’s an alternative, faster way to install and activate the QSM add-ons through — QSM Addon Installer. Simply download and install the QSM Addon Installer plugin on your site where the QSM plugin is active.

Configure CVS Export

The add-on allows you to export many different fields. To export multiple quizzes, navigate to the Results page from the QSM panel on the WordPress sidebar. Go to the Export Results tab, there, you can select all the fields you want to include in the downloadable CSV.

Plus, you can even export results for individual quizzes. To export results for a specific quiz, simply navigate to QSM, go to the quiz that you want to export, and navigate to Add-ons > Export Results.

• Timestamp – When this option is enabled, the timestamps are included with other results data.
• Contact Information – When this option is enabled, the contact information of the respondents is also included with other results data.
• User ID (if logged in) – When this option is enabled, the user ID of the responder is also included if the quiz/survey you intend to export requires users to be logged in.
• User Name (if logged in) – When this option is enabled, the user name attempting the quiz will also be exported.
• User Email (if logged in) – When this option is enabled, the user’s email attempting the quiz will also be exported.
• Quiz Name – When this option is enabled, the Quiz/Survey’s Name is included with other results data.
• Question Text Fields – When this option is enabled, the Quiz/Survey’s Questions will be exported with other results data.
• User’s Answer Fields – When this option is enabled, the Quiz/Survey’s answers will be exported with other results data.
• User’s Question Comments Fields – When this option is enabled, the Quiz/Survey’s questions comments will be exported with other results data.
• Right/Wrong Fields – When this option is enabled, the Quiz/Survey’s answers correctness will be exported with other results data.
• Question Points Fields – When this option is enabled, the Quiz/Survey question earned points will be exported with other results data.
• Question Category Fields – When this option is enabled, the Quiz/Survey’s question category will also be exported with other results data. The question must belong to a certain category so as to display the category name.
• Total Correct Answer Field – When this option is enabled, the Quiz/Survey’s total correct number will be exported along with other results data.
• Total Question Field – When this option is enabled, the Quiz/Survey’s total number of questions will be exported along with other results data.
• Final Score Field – When this option is enabled, the Quiz/Survey’s final score will be exported along with other results data.
• Comment Section Field – When this option is enabled, the Quiz/Survey’s user comments will be exported along with other results data.
• Timer Field – When this option is enabled, the time taken to complete the Quiz/Survey will be exported along with other results data.
• IP Address – When this option is enabled, the IP addresses of the users who completed the Quiz/Survey will be exported along with the other results data.
• Correct Answer(s) – If this option is enabled, the correct answers for each question will be exported along with the other selected results data.
• Page URL – If you enable this option, the URL of the page where the quiz/survey was completed will be exported
• Category Score – If you enable this option, the participants’ scores grouped by categories will be exported ( if the quiz/survey is divided into different categories).

Filter results by Date (Leave blank for all results) – You can export results from and to a given date by choosing the Beginning Date and End Date.

Select Export Type – Choose from two available formats for exporting quiz results:

• Single Row – When you select this option from the dropdown, all quiz questions and their corresponding answers will be displayed in a single row (but in different columns) within the exported file.

• Separate Row – When you select this option, each quiz question will be placed in a separate row (but within a single column), with corresponding answers appearing in their respective columns.

Select Quizzes – Choose any existing quizzes you would want to export. This option will not be available for individual quizzes Export Results settings.

Once you click on the Export button for your results, a link will appear at the top labeled “Download your export file now!” as seen in the below image. In some browsers and sites, you will have to right-click and click Save As… on the link to download the CSV file.

If your results are in a language that supports accented characters, you may notice some odd things in your export if you are opening the file in Excel. If you do, please read our Getting Excel to properly show accented characters documentation.

Export PDF Downloads

The QSM Export Results add-on also supports PDF export of quiz and email results right from the final quiz results and email page. This means your visitors can now download a copy of their results from the results page or the email.

To enable this function, you first need to be on the latest version of the Export add-on. If you find an update available, please update to the latest version.

Now, from your quiz, go to Addons > Export Results > PDF Downloads. Here, you can customize the PDF that will be shared with your participants.

1. Select Page Type: You can select the page type to match the form’s content length choose from A3, A4, A5, Legal, and Letter page formats.
2. Logo URL: It allows you to enter the URL of the logo you want to display in the PDF (specific to the formats mentioned)
3. Download Button text – You can rename the download button label that will be displayed in the result or email page.
4. Quiz Title: It allows to hide/display the Quiz Title in PDF
5. Content: It provides you the option to enter the content or body to be shown in PDF
6. Custom Style: Allows you the space to enter the CSS styles you want to use in the PDF

Now, simply go to the “Results” tab of QSM and add the template variable %PDF_BUTTON%. This will display a Download PDF button to the user on the results page.

After submitting the quiz, users will see the final output on the results page after they submit the quiz.

Similarly, if you want to include PDF results in an email, then follow the same process as we did for the Results Page.

Open the Emails tab and add the %PDF_BUTTON% variable to your email template.

The participant will then receive the PDF file of your quiz result. You can download the file onto your device.

If you intend to export the Results PDF in a language other than English, you need to import the CSS of that Specific Font from Google Fonts.

1. Go to Google Fonts

2. Copy the Font’s Import CSS

3. Paste it into the Custom Style field of the Addon, and Hit Save Settings.
