Summary Emails

The Summary Emails Addon allows you to receive emails that contain a summary of all the results over the course of a day or a week.


Once you have purchased the addon, you will have access to download the addon. To install, upload the addon as a normal WordPress plugin. To do so, go to the Plugins page and click Add New. Then, click Upload.

From there, upload the zip file that you downloaded when downloading the addon. Once the addon has uploaded, you should now have the plugin QSM – Summary Emails listed in your list of plugins. Activate that plugin. Once activated, the addon will add a new tab in the Addon Settings labeled “Summary Emails”.

Before you can use the Summary Emails addon, we must first enter in the license key.


Adding Your License Key

Enter your license key from your account into the “Addon License Key” field on the “Summary Emails” tab of the “Addon Settings”.

Once you have entered your license key, be sure to click “Save Changes” to save the page.

Configuring your summary emails

Once you have your license key entered, you can then edit any of your quizzes and surveys to set up your summary emails. First, edit your quiz and survey. Then, go to the new “Summary Emails” tab.

First, you will want to set the “Enable summary emails for this quiz/survey?” option to “Yes” if you are using the addon on your quiz or survey.

Then, set the addon to email daily or weekly using the “Daily or weekly?” option.

Next, set the email address you want the email to be sent to and customize the subject.

There are two different templates you can edit with this addon. The first is the overall template for the email. This is what the email will contain when it is sent. It is important to use the special %RESULTS% variable in this template. This template will be replaced with all of the results.

The second template is what is used for each result which will be combined to replace the %RESULTS% variable in the previous template. You can use any of the variables you can normally use when editing the admin emails.

So, if you set your summary emails to “weekly” and have 100 users submit the survey during that week, there will be 100 results listed in this email. The second template will be used 100 times and then placed in the first template where the %RESULTS% variable is.
